Indications:
Olmesta M 5/40 is used to treat hypertension, especially in patients requiring combination therapy for better blood pressure control.
Pharmacology:
Contains Olmesartan medoxomil (an angiotensin II receptor blocker) and Hydrochlorothiazide (a thiazide diuretic) that work together to lower blood pressure by relaxing blood vessels and reducing fluid retention.
Dosage:
Typically one tablet once daily or as directed by the physician.
Administration:
Oral use with or without food, preferably at the same time each day.
Interaction:
May interact with other antihypertensives, potassium supplements, NSAIDs, lithium, and diabetic medications. Inform your doctor of all medicines being taken.
Contraindications:
Avoid in patients allergic to components, during pregnancy, or severe kidney or liver impairment without medical advice.
Side Effects:
Possible side effects include dizziness, dehydration, electrolyte imbalance, increased urination, and fatigue.
Pregnancy & Lactation:
Not recommended during pregnancy and breastfeeding unless advised by a healthcare professional.
