Indications:
PG CR 82.5MG is indicated for the treatment of neuropathic pain associated with diabetic neuropathy, postherpetic neuralgia, as adjunctive therapy in partial seizures, and for generalized anxiety disorder (GAD). Controlled release ensures steady pain and anxiety relief throughout the day.

Pharmacology:
Pregabalin is a structural analog of GABA that binds to the α2-δ subunit of voltage-gated calcium channels in the CNS, reducing calcium influx and release of several neurotransmitters. The controlled release formulation maintains plasma drug concentration over an extended period, improving compliance and reducing side effect spikes.

Dosage:
Recommended starting dose is 82.5 mg once daily. Dosage may be adjusted based on patient response and physician recommendation. Not to exceed prescribed limits.

Administration:
Administer orally, once daily with or without food. Do not crush or chew the tablet; swallow it whole to maintain controlled release properties.

Interaction:
May increase sedation when taken with alcohol, opioids, or benzodiazepines. Use cautiously with CNS depressants. Dose adjustments may be required in renal impairment.

Contraindications:
Contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to Pregabalin or any components of the formulation.

Side Effects:
Common effects include dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth, peripheral edema, blurred vision, and fatigue. Controlled release formulation may help minimize peak-level side effects.

Pregnancy & Lactation:
Use in pregnancy only if clearly needed and prescribed by a doctor. Exercise caution during breastfeeding due to possible drug excretion in breast milk.

Precautions & Warnings:
Gradual tapering is advised before discontinuation. Monitor renal function in long-term use. Patients should avoid driving or operating machinery until they know how the medicine affects them.

Therapeutic Class:
GABA analogues, antiepileptic and neuropathic pain agents (controlled release).

Storage Conditions:
Store below 30°C, protected from moisture and direct sunlight. Keep out of reach of children.
