Indications:
Mycofin 250mg Tablet is indicated for the treatment of:

  • Onychomycosis (nail infections) due to dermatophytes

  • Tinea pedis (athlete's foot)

  • Tinea corporis (ringworm)

  • Tinea cruris (jock itch)

  • Tinea versicolor

Pharmacology:
Terbinafine is an allylamine antifungal agent that inhibits squalene epoxidase, an enzyme involved in the biosynthesis of ergosterol, a vital component of fungal cell membranes. This inhibition leads to the accumulation of squalene and a deficiency of ergosterol, resulting in fungal cell death.

Administration:

Interaction:
Terbinafine is metabolized by the CYP450 2D6 enzyme. Concomitant use with drugs metabolized by this enzyme may require dose adjustments.
