Indications
ETORIX 120MG Tablet is indicated for:

Osteoarthritis: Relief from joint pain and stiffness.

Rheumatoid arthritis: Management of chronic inflammation and pain in joints.

Ankylosing spondylitis: Reducing inflammation and stiffness in the spine.

Acute pain: Short-term treatment of moderate to severe pain, such as post-operative or dental pain.
Pharmacology
The active ingredient, Etoricoxib, is a selective cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) inhibitor. It reduces the production of prostaglandins that cause inflammation and pain, without significantly affecting COX-1, thus minimizing gastrointestinal side effects.
Dosage and Administration

Osteoarthritis: 60mg once daily, or as directed.

Rheumatoid Arthritis/Acute Pain: 90mg to 120mg once daily.

Administration: Take orally with water, with or without food. Do not exceed the prescribed dose.
Interaction

May enhance the effects of anticoagulants like warfarin.

Concurrent use with ACE inhibitors or diuretics may affect kidney function.

Avoid using with other NSAIDs to prevent adverse effects.
Contraindications

Known hypersensitivity to Etoricoxib or other COX-2 inhibitors.

History of peptic ulcers, gastrointestinal bleeding, or severe liver or kidney impairment.

Uncontrolled hypertension or cardiovascular diseases.
Side Effects

Common: Nausea, dizziness, abdominal discomfort, or headache.

Rare but serious: Cardiovascular events (e.g., heart attack or stroke), severe gastrointestinal bleeding.
Pregnancy & Lactation

Pregnancy: Contraindicated, especially in the third trimester.

Lactation: Not recommended; consult a physician before use.
Precautions & Warnings

Use cautiously in patients with cardiovascular risk factors or a history of gastrointestinal disorders.

Regular monitoring of blood pressure is advised during therapy.

Discontinue immediately if signs of an allergic reaction or severe adverse effects occur.
