Indications
GLIKAZID MR 60MG Tablet is indicated for:

Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus: Effective for controlling blood sugar levels in adults whose diabetes is not adequately managed by diet, exercise, and lifestyle modifications.
Pharmacology
Gliclazide is a second-generation sulfonylurea that stimulates pancreatic beta cells to release insulin. Its modified-release formulation ensures steady and prolonged glycemic control, reducing blood sugar spikes.
Dosage and Administration

Dosage:

Start with 30mg or 60mg once daily. Adjust dose based on glycemic response up to 120mg daily.

Take orally with water during breakfast. Swallow the tablet whole without crushing or chewing.

Interaction

Increased Risk of Hypoglycemia: With alcohol, other antidiabetic drugs, or beta-blockers.

Decreased Effectiveness: With corticosteroids, diuretics, or hormonal contraceptives.
Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to Gliclazide or other sulfonylureas.

Type 1 diabetes or diabetic ketoacidosis.

Severe liver or kidney impairment.
Side Effects

Common: Hypoglycemia, dizziness, headache, and nausea.

Pregnancy & Lactation
