Indications:
Duoliv 5mg Tablet is prescribed for:

Managing primary hypercholesterolemia and mixed dyslipidemia

Lowering triglycerides in hypertriglyceridemia

Reducing cardiovascular risk in high-risk patients

Treating familial hypercholesterolemia
Pharmacology:
Rosuvastatin, the active ingredient, works as an HMG-CoA reductase inhibitor (statin). It reduces cholesterol synthesis in the liver, leading to lower LDL cholesterol and triglycerides while increasing HDL cholesterol. This improves lipid profiles and reduces the risk of atherosclerosis and cardiovascular events.

Starting dose: 5 mg once daily

Maximum dose: 40 mg/day based on patient condition and response

Take orally, with or without food.

Preferably take at the same time each day.

Interaction:

Avoid concurrent use with fibrates or niacin due to the increased risk of muscle issues.

May elevate Rosuvastatin levels when taken with cyclosporine.

Use cautiously with anticoagulants; monitor INR levels closely.

Active liver disease or unexplained elevated liver enzymes
