AVENTY 100 MG Tablet is indicated for:-
Major depressive disorder

Anxiety disorders
-
Neuropathic pain
-
Migraine prophylaxis

Pharmacology:
AVENTY contains amitriptyline hydrochloride, a tricyclic antidepressant that inhibits the reuptake of serotonin and norepinephrine, enhancing their availability in the central nervous system. This mechanism helps improve mood and reduce anxiety symptoms.
Dosage and Administration:

Adults: Start with 25-50 mg daily, gradually increasing to 100-150 mg per day as needed.

Elderly: Lower doses recommended (25-75 mg daily).

Administered orally, preferably at bedtime to reduce drowsiness during the day.
Interaction:

Avoid combining with monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs).

May enhance the effects of CNS depressants and alcohol.

Interaction with antihypertensive drugs may cause hypotension.
Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity to amitriptyline or other tricyclic antidepressants.

Acute recovery phase following a myocardial infarction.

Concurrent use with MAOIs.
Side Effects:

Common: Dry mouth, drowsiness, blurred vision, constipation, dizziness.

Serious: Cardiac arrhythmias, severe hypotension, seizures.
Pregnancy & Lactation:

Not recommended during pregnancy unless necessary.

Amitriptyline is excreted in breast milk; caution is advised during lactation.
Precautions & Warnings:

Use cautiously in patients with cardiovascular disease, liver impairment, or a history of seizures.

Monitor for suicidal thoughts, especially during the initial treatment phase.

Avoid abrupt discontinuation to prevent withdrawal symptoms.
Therapeutic Class:
