Indications:
Creston 5mg Tablet is indicated for:
Lowering elevated cholesterol and triglycerides in the blood (hyperlipidemia)
Reducing the risk of heart attack, stroke, and other cardiovascular events
Treating familial hypercholesterolemia
Pharmacology:
Rosuvastatin, the active ingredient in Creston, is a statin that inhibits HMG-CoA reductase, an enzyme involved in cholesterol synthesis. It decreases LDL cholesterol and increases HDL cholesterol, improving overall lipid profiles.
Dosage and Administration:
Dosage: The initial recommended dose is 5mg once daily, adjustable as per clinical response and medical advice.
Administration: Administer orally, with or without food, preferably at the same time each day.
Interaction:
May interact with anticoagulants, fibrates, and other lipid-lowering medications.
Avoid alcohol and grapefruit juice to minimize adverse effects.
