Indications:
Severe eczema
Psoriasis (excluding widespread plaque psoriasis)
Lichen planus
Discoid lupus erythematosus
Other corticosteroid-responsive dermatoses
Pharmacology:
Clobetasol propionate is a super-potent corticosteroid that works by reducing inflammation and suppressing the immune response in the skin. It decreases redness, swelling, and itching associated with various dermatological conditions.
Dosage & Administration:
Adults, elderly, and children over 1 year: Apply a thin layer to the affected area twice daily and rub in gently.
Maximum weekly dose: Do not exceed 50 grams per week.
Treatment duration: Limit to 2 consecutive weeks to minimize potential side effects.
Interaction:
Concurrent use with other topical corticosteroids may increase the risk of side effects.
Use with caution when combined with other medications that affect the skin.
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to clobetasol propionate or any component of the lotion.
Not for use on the face, groin, or underarms unless directed by a healthcare provider.
Not recommended for children under 12 years old.
Side Effects:
Common: Burning, stinging, or itching at the application site.
Less common: Skin thinning, stretch marks, or acne.
