Indications:
Prevention and treatment of chronic stable angina pectoris.
Pharmacology:
Nicorandil acts as a nitrate donor and ATP-sensitive potassium channel opener, causing vasodilation of coronary arteries and peripheral vessels.
Dosage:
Typical dose is 0.5 mg twice daily, adjusted based on response and tolerance.
Administration:
Oral administration with or without food, preferably at the same time each day.
Interaction:
May interact with other nitrates, antihypertensives, and drugs affecting blood pressure.
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to Nicorandil, severe hypotension, shock, and recent myocardial infarction.
