Indications:
BACMAX 10 MG is indicated for the treatment of muscle spasticity caused by multiple sclerosis, spinal cord injury, or other neurological disorders.
Pharmacology:
Baclofen acts as a gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) agonist at spinal cord level, inhibiting nerve transmission and reducing muscle spasticity.
Dosage:
Typical adult dose starts at 5 mg three times daily, may be increased gradually to 10 mg three times daily or as directed by a physician.
Administration:
Oral administration with or without food.
Interaction:
May interact with CNS depressants, alcohol, and other muscle relaxants; caution advised.
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to Baclofen or any component of the formulation; caution in patients with epilepsy or renal impairment.
Side Effects:
Drowsiness, dizziness, weakness, fatigue, nausea, and headache are common. Sudden withdrawal may cause hallucinations or seizures.
Pregnancy & Lactation:
Use only if clearly needed and prescribed; safety during pregnancy and lactation not well established.
Precautions & Warnings:
Do not abruptly stop the medication; taper dose gradually under medical supervision. Use caution in patients with renal impairment or psychiatric disorders.
