Indications:
Osteoporosis
Osteomalacia
Rickets
Tetany
Hypoparathyroidism
Calcium and vitamin D₃ deficiency
Pregnancy and lactation
Chronic renal failure (as phosphate binder)

Pharmacology:
Seacal DX 600/400 combines calcium carbonate sourced from coral, which has a chemical structure similar to human bone, ensuring better absorption. Vitamin D₃ enhances calcium absorption from the gastrointestinal tract and helps maintain calcium balance in the body.
Dosage:
Adults: 1 tablet in the morning and 1 tablet at night, or as directed by the physician.
Children: Dosage as prescribed by the physician.
Administration:
Oral administration with meals to improve absorption.
Tablets should be swallowed whole with water.
Interaction:
Oral calcium can reduce the absorption of tetracycline and fluoride preparations; a minimum of 3 hours should be allowed between ingestion of these medications.
Thiazide diuretics reduce the renal excretion of calcium.
Phenytoin, barbiturates, and glucocorticoids may induce metabolism of vitamin D₃.
Concomitant ingestion of certain foods like spinach, cereals, and milk may reduce the intestinal uptake of calcium.
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to any of the components.
Hypercalcemia and hyperparathyroidism.
Hypercalciuria and nephrolithiasis.
Severe renal insufficiency.
Side Effects:
Rare manifestations include flatulence, diarrhea, constipation, and upper gastrointestinal discomfort.
Hypercalcemia due to prolonged use has rarely been reported.
Pregnancy & Lactation:
Use during pregnancy and lactation should be as per the recommendation of a registered physician.
