Pharmacology:
Seacal DX 600/400 combines calcium carbonate sourced from coral, which has a chemical structure similar to human bone, ensuring better absorption. Vitamin D₃ enhances calcium absorption from the gastrointestinal tract and helps maintain calcium balance in the body.

Dosage:

  • Adults: 1 tablet in the morning and 1 tablet at night, or as directed by the physician.

  • Children: Dosage as prescribed by the physician.

Administration:

  • Oral administration with meals to improve absorption.

  • Tablets should be swallowed whole with water.

Interaction:

  • Oral calcium can reduce the absorption of tetracycline and fluoride preparations; a minimum of 3 hours should be allowed between ingestion of these medications.

  • Thiazide diuretics reduce the renal excretion of calcium.

  • Phenytoin, barbiturates, and glucocorticoids may induce metabolism of vitamin D₃.

  • Concomitant ingestion of certain foods like spinach, cereals, and milk may reduce the intestinal uptake of calcium.
