Indications:
Indicated for relief of pain and inflammation in osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, and acute gouty arthritis.
Pharmacology:
Etoricoxib selectively inhibits the cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) enzyme, reducing prostaglandin synthesis and thus inflammation and pain.
Dosage:
Typically 30 mg once daily, dosage may vary based on condition and physician’s advice.
Administration:
Oral administration with or without food.
Interaction:
May interact with anticoagulants, ACE inhibitors, diuretics, and other NSAIDs. Inform your doctor about all medications.
Contraindications:
Allergy to Etoricoxib or other NSAIDs.
Active peptic ulcer disease, severe heart failure, pregnancy, and lactation.
Side Effects:
Possible side effects include headache, dizziness, hypertension, gastrointestinal discomfort, and rare cardiovascular events.
