Indications:
Clarin 250 mg is indicated for treatment of bacterial infections including respiratory tract infections (such as bronchitis, pneumonia), skin and soft tissue infections, and Helicobacter pylori eradication in combination therapy.
Pharmacology:
Clarithromycin is a macrolide antibiotic that inhibits bacterial protein synthesis by binding to the 50S ribosomal subunit, preventing bacterial growth.
Dosage:
Typical adult dose is 250 mg twice daily for 7-14 days depending on infection severity. Dosage may vary per physician’s prescription.
Administration:
Administer orally with or without food. Complete the full prescribed course even if symptoms improve early.
Interaction:
May interact with drugs like warfarin, theophylline, carbamazepine, and certain statins. Inform your doctor about all medications.
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to clarithromycin or other macrolides. Avoid if history of liver dysfunction due to macrolides.
Side Effects:
