NEBIFAST 5 MG is primarily indicated for the treatment of:
Hypertension (High Blood Pressure): It helps to lower blood pressure and reduce the risk of complications such as stroke, heart attack, and kidney problems.
Chronic Heart Failure: It is used in combination with other medications to improve heart function and alleviate the symptoms of heart failure.
Prevention of Heart Attack: Nebivolol may be prescribed to reduce the risk of recurrence of heart attacks in patients with a history of heart disease.
Angina (Chest Pain): Helps in the management of chest pain related to heart disease.
NEBIFAST 5 MG contains Nebivolol, a selective beta-1 adrenergic blocker (beta-blocker). Nebivolol works by blocking the beta-1 receptors in the heart, which reduces the heart rate and the force of contraction, leading to a decrease in blood pressure. It also promotes the release of nitric oxide, causing blood vessels to relax and dilate, further helping in lowering blood pressure and improving overall heart function.
For Hypertension: The usual starting dose is 5 mg once daily. Based on the response, the dose may be adjusted by the healthcare provider.
For Chronic Heart Failure: The typical starting dose is 2.5 mg once daily, which can be gradually increased to 5 mg or higher as necessary.
For Prevention of Heart Attack: 5 mg once daily, or as directed by your doctor.
Maximum dose: 10 mg daily for both hypertension and heart failure.
Take NEBIFAST 5 MG orally once a day.
It can be taken with or without food.
Swallow the tablet whole with a full glass of water.
Do not crush or chew the tablet.
NEBIFAST 5 MG may interact with:
Other antihypertensive drugs (e.g., calcium channel blockers, ACE inhibitors) can enhance the blood pressure-lowering effects of Nebivolol.
Antiarrhythmic drugs (e.g., amiodarone) may increase the risk of bradycardia (slow heart rate).
Diabetes medications: Nebivolol may mask some symptoms of hypoglycemia (low blood sugar), such as an increased heart rate.
Alcohol: It may enhance the blood pressure-lowering effects when used together.
Always inform your doctor about all other medications (prescription, over-the-counter, and supplements) you are taking.
Severe bradycardia (very slow heart rate).
Heart block (second or third-degree), unless the patient has a pacemaker.
Severe hypotension (very low blood pressure).
Severe liver impairment.
Asthma or COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease): Beta-blockers can worsen these conditions.
Pregnancy and breastfeeding: Not recommended unless absolutely necessary.
Common side effects: Fatigue, headache, dizziness, slow
