Indications:
T CEF 200 MG is used for the treatment of bacterial infections such as acute bronchitis, pneumonia, urinary tract infections, otitis media, pharyngitis, and tonsillitis.
Pharmacology:
Cefixime is a third-generation cephalosporin antibiotic that inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis, leading to bacterial cell death. It is effective against a wide range of Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria.
Dosage:
Adults: 200 mg twice daily or as prescribed.
Children: Dose adjusted by weight; typically 8 mg/kg/day divided into two doses.
Administration:
Take orally with or without food. Swallow the tablet whole with water.
Interaction:
May interact with antacids, probenecid, and other nephrotoxic drugs. Inform your doctor about all medications you are taking.
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to cefixime, cephalosporins, or penicillin antibiotics.
History of severe allergic reactions to beta-lactam antibiotics.
Side Effects:
