Indications:

SUDAC 200 MG is indicated for:

Erectile dysfunction (ED) in men
Pulmonary arterial hypertension (as an off-label use)

Pharmacology:

Sildenafil is a phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5) inhibitor. It works by blocking the enzyme PDE5, which normally breaks down cGMP. By inhibiting PDE5, sildenafil increases the levels of cGMP, leading to relaxation of smooth muscles in the penis and increased blood flow, resulting in an erection when sexually stimulated.

Dosage:

For Erectile Dysfunction (ED): Typically, 50 mg to 200 mg is taken 30 minutes to 1 hour before sexual activity. The dose may be adjusted depending on efficacy and tolerance.
For Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension (PAH): The typical dose is 20 mg three times daily, but this varies based on the physician's recommendations.

Administration:

Take the tablet orally with water.
Do not exceed the prescribed dose.
Can be taken with or without food.
Avoid heavy meals or high-fat meals when taking the medication, as this can delay its onset of action.

Interaction:

Sildenafil may interact with nitrates (often used for chest pain) and can cause a dangerous drop in blood pressure.
Other interactions include alpha-blockers, protease inhibitors, antifungals, and some antibiotics.
It may also interact with medications used for hypertension and certain heart conditions.

Contraindications:

Known hypersensitivity to sildenafil or any component of the formulation
Concurrent use of nitrates or nitric oxide donors (e.g., nitroglycerin)
Severe cardiovascular conditions (e.g., recent heart attack, stroke, or low blood pressure)
Liver or kidney impairment (use with caution)

Side Effects:
