Indications:
Demoxiclave 625 is indicated for the treatment of infections caused by beta-lactamase producing bacteria, such as:

Upper and lower respiratory tract infections
Urinary tract infections (UTIs)
Skin and soft tissue infections
Otitis media and sinusitis
Dental infections
Bone and joint infections

Pharmacology:
Amoxicillin is a semisynthetic antibiotic with a broad spectrum of bactericidal activity. Clavulanic Acid is a beta-lactamase inhibitor that inactivates beta-lactamase enzymes produced by resistant bacteria. This combination extends the antimicrobial spectrum of amoxicillin.

Dosage:
Adults and children over 12 years: One tablet (625 mg) every 8–12 hours or as directed by a physician. Dosage may vary depending on severity of infection.
Children under 12 years: Dose to be determined by body weight and clinical condition.

Administration:
Should be taken orally with meals to minimize gastrointestinal discomfort and enhance absorption. Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.

Interaction:
May interact with oral anticoagulants (e.g., warfarin), allopurinol (increased risk of skin reactions), and methotrexate (enhanced toxicity). Avoid alcohol during treatment.

Contraindications:
Contraindicated in patients with a known hypersensitivity to penicillin, cephalosporins, or any component of the formulation. Also contraindicated in patients with a history of cholestatic jaundice or hepatic dysfunction associated with amoxicillin/clavulanic acid.

Side Effects:
Common side effects: nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, skin rash.
Rare but serious: liver dysfunction, cholestatic jaundice, Clostridium difficile-associated diarrhea.

Pregnancy & Lactation:
Considered safe in pregnancy (Category B) when clearly needed. Excreted in small amounts in breast milk. Use with caution during breastfeeding.

Precautions & Warnings:
Monitor liver and kidney function during prolonged use. Use with caution in patients with hepatic or renal impairment. Complete full course even if symptoms improve early.
