Indications:
D-Fen 0.5 mg is indicated for the prophylactic treatment of:

Classical migraine
Common migraine
Cluster headache

Dosage & Administration:

Adults: Initially, 0.5 mg at night. The dose may be increased gradually to 1.5 mg daily, taken as a single dose at night or in three divided doses. Maximum daily dose: 4.5 mg, with no more than 3 mg per single dose.
Children (over 2 years): Up to 1.5 mg daily in divided doses; up to 1 mg may be given as a single dose at night.

Administration:
Take orally, preferably at the same time each day. It can be taken with or without food, but taking it at night may reduce daytime drowsiness.

Pharmacology:
Pizotifen is a tricyclic compound structurally similar to cyproheptadine and tricyclic antidepressants. It acts as a serotonin antagonist, particularly at 5-HT2 receptors, which helps in preventing migraine attacks.
