Indications:
Allergic rhinitis

Pharmacology:
Pheniramine maleate is a first-generation antihistamine that blocks H1 histamine receptors, preventing the action of histamine released during allergic reactions. It reduces symptoms such as sneezing, itching, and swelling.
Dosage:
Adults: 1 mg tablet two to three times daily or as directed by physician
Children: Use only under medical supervision with adjusted dose
Avoid overdose due to sedative effects
Administration:
Take orally with water
Can be taken with or without food
Avoid alcohol and other CNS depressants during treatment
Interaction:
Potentiates CNS depressants like alcohol, sedatives, tranquilizers
May interact with monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs)
Caution with other antihistamines or anticholinergic drugs
Contraindications:
Known hypersensitivity to pheniramine or other antihistamines
Narrow-angle glaucoma
Severe hypertension or cardiovascular disease (caution advised)
Side Effects:
Common: Drowsiness, dizziness, dry mouth, nausea
Rare: Confusion, blurred vision, urinary retention
Use caution in elderly due to increased sedation risk
Pregnancy & Lactation:
Use only if clearly needed after physician consultation

Precautions & Warnings:
Avoid driving or operating machinery if drowsy
Use caution in patients with asthma or prostatic hypertrophy
