Indications:
D-Dopa 110 is indicated for the treatment of:
Idiopathic Parkinson's disease
Post-encephalitic Parkinsonism
Symptomatic Parkinsonism following nervous system injury due to carbon monoxide or manganese intoxication
Pharmacology:
Levodopa serves as a precursor to dopamine, which is deficient in patients with Parkinson's disease. It crosses the blood-brain barrier and is converted to dopamine in the brain, helping to alleviate motor symptoms. Carbidopa inhibits the peripheral decarboxylation of Levodopa, increasing its availability in the central nervous system and reducing side effects like nausea .
Dosage & Administration:
Adults: Initiate with one tablet (Levodopa 100 mg + Carbidopa 10 mg) three to four times daily. Dosage may be adjusted based on patient response and tolerance.
Administration: Take orally, preferably on an empty stomach. Avoid high-protein meals close to dosing times, as they may interfere with drug absorption .

Dry mouth

Sleep disturbances
Orthostatic hypotension
Precautions & Warnings:
Use with caution in patients with a history of cardiovascular, pulmonary, renal, hepatic, or endocrine diseases.
Monitor for signs of depression or suicidal tendencies.
May cause drowsiness; avoid driving or operating heavy machinery until you know how the medication affects you .
Use in Special Populations:
Children: Safety and effectiveness in individuals below 18 years have not been established; use is not recommended .
