Indications:
Clobederm 0.05% cream is indicated for treatment of inflammatory skin disorders such as eczema, psoriasis, dermatitis, and allergic reactions causing itching and redness.
Pharmacology:
Clobetasol propionate is a potent corticosteroid that reduces inflammation, itching, and redness by vasoconstriction and suppressing immune responses in the skin.
Dosage:
Apply a thin layer of Clobederm cream to the affected area once or twice daily as prescribed. Avoid prolonged use.
Administration:
For external use only. Clean and dry the affected area before application. Avoid contact with eyes and mucous membranes.
Interaction:
Use caution when combined with other topical products; systemic absorption may increase with occlusive dressings.
Contraindications:
Not recommended in patients with hypersensitivity to clobetasol or corticosteroids, untreated skin infections, or viral skin diseases like herpes.
Side Effects:
Possible side effects include skin thinning, irritation, burning, dryness, acneiform eruptions, and rarely systemic corticosteroid effects with prolonged use.
Pregnancy & Lactation:
Use only if clearly needed and prescribed. Limited safety data in pregnancy; avoid use on large areas during breastfeeding.
Precautions & Warnings:
Avoid use on broken skin or large areas. Prolonged use may cause skin atrophy. Monitor for adverse effects. Avoid sudden discontinuation.
