Indications:
Dalatic Plus 15gm is indicated for the topical treatment of acne vulgaris, particularly inflammatory acne lesions including papules and pustules.
Pharmacology:
Clindamycin is a lincosamide antibiotic that inhibits bacterial protein synthesis by binding to the 50S ribosomal subunit. Nicotinamide (Vitamin B3) has anti-inflammatory properties and reduces sebum production. Together, they help in reducing acne lesions and skin inflammation.
Dosage:
Apply a thin layer of the gel to the affected area once or twice daily, or as directed by a physician.
Administration:
For external use only. Wash and dry the affected area before application. Apply a small amount and spread gently. Avoid contact with eyes, mouth, and mucous membranes.
Interaction:
Avoid concurrent use with other topical antibiotics or acne medications unless prescribed. Do not use with products that cause skin irritation.
Contraindications:
Contraindicated in patients with a history of hypersensitivity to Clindamycin, Nicotinamide, or any component of the formulation. Not to be used in individuals with a history of regional enteritis, ulcerative colitis, or antibiotic-associated colitis.
Side Effects:
May cause local irritation, dryness, peeling, or redness. Rarely, systemic absorption of clindamycin can lead to diarrhea or colitis.
Pregnancy & Lactation:
Use only if clearly needed and prescribed by a physician. Limited data available on use during pregnancy and lactation.
Precautions & Warnings:
Avoid prolonged or excessive use. Discontinue if severe irritation or allergic reaction occurs. Use sunscreen as skin may become sensitive to sunlight.
