Indications:
Benzac 15gm is indicated for the topical treatment of acne vulgaris, targeting comedonal (blackheads and whiteheads) and pustular acne.
Pharmacology:
Benzoyl Peroxide exhibits antimicrobial properties, reducing Propionibacterium acnes bacteria on the skin. It also has a mild keratolytic effect, aiding in the shedding of dead skin cells and preventing pore blockages.
Dosage:
Apply a thin layer of Benzac 15gm to the affected areas once or twice daily, after cleansing the skin.
Administration:
For external use only. Cleanse the skin before application. Avoid contact with eyes, lips, and mucous membranes.
Interaction:
Avoid using other topical acne treatments simultaneously unless directed by a healthcare professional.
Contraindications:
Contraindicated in individuals with hypersensitivity to Benzoyl Peroxide or any component of the formulation.
Side Effects:
Common side effects include skin irritation, redness, peeling, and dryness. If severe irritation occurs, discontinue use and consult a healthcare professional.
