Indications:
TEXA OPHTHALMIC is indicated for the treatment of bacterial infections of the eye such as conjunctivitis, blepharitis, and other superficial ocular infections caused by tetracycline-sensitive bacteria.
Pharmacology:
Tetracycline hydrochloride is a broad-spectrum antibiotic that inhibits bacterial protein synthesis by binding to the 30S ribosomal subunit, preventing the growth and multiplication of susceptible bacteria.
Dosage:
Apply a thin layer of the ointment inside the lower eyelid of the affected eye(s) two to three times daily or as directed by the physician.
Administration:
Wash hands before application. Avoid touching the tip of the ointment tube to any surface, including the eye or hands, to prevent contamination. Gently pull down the lower eyelid and apply the ointment inside the eyelid. Close the eye for a few minutes to allow absorption.
Interaction:
No significant drug interactions reported with topical use. Inform your doctor if using other eye medications.
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to tetracycline or any components of the formulation.
Side Effects:
Possible mild irritation, burning sensation, redness, or itching at the application site. If severe irritation or allergic reaction occurs, discontinue use and consult a physician.

Use only if clearly needed during pregnancy and lactation. Consult your doctor before use.
