Description

• রেজিস্টার্ড চিকিৎসকের পরামর্শ মোতাবেক ঔষধ সেবন করুন।

Indications:
FUREX 250 MG is indicated for the treatment of:

  • Edema (fluid retention) caused by conditions such as congestive heart failure, liver disease, and kidney disease.

  • Hypertension (high blood pressure) either alone or in combination with other antihypertensive agents.
It helps reduce swelling and fluid retention by increasing the amount of urine the kidneys produce.

Pharmacology:
FUREX contains Furosemide, a loop diuretic that works by inhibiting the reabsorption of sodium and chloride in the kidneys, particularly in the loop of Henle. This results in increased urine production, leading to the elimination of excess fluid and salt from the body. This helps reduce fluid retention and lower blood pressure.

Dosage:

  • Adults: Typically, 20-80 mg daily, depending on the severity of the condition. The dose may be increased if needed, usually in 20-40 mg increments.

  • For hypertension, the dose is usually 40 mg daily, which can be adjusted based on the patient's response.

  • Children: Dose based on weight and severity of condition, as directed by the doctor.

Administration:

  • Take FUREX 250 MG orally with or without food.

  • Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.

  • It is generally taken once or twice daily as prescribed by the doctor, and the dose may vary depending on the condition being treated.

Interaction:
FUREX may interact with other medications, including:

  • Other antihypertensive drugs (may enhance the blood pressure-lowering effect).

  • Lithium (may increase the risk of lithium toxicity).

  • Digoxin (may increase the risk of arrhythmias).

  • NSAIDs (may reduce the effectiveness of furosemide).
Always inform your healthcare provider about all the medications you are taking.

Contraindications:

  • Severe liver or kidney impairment.

  • Anuria (inability to urinate).

  • Electrolyte imbalances such as low potassium or sodium levels.

  • Dehydration or low blood pressure (hypotension).
