Indications:
FUCLAV 70 ML is indicated for the treatment of a wide variety of bacterial infections, including:

Respiratory tract infections like pneumonia, bronchitis, and sinusitis.

Urinary tract infections (UTIs).
-
Skin and soft tissue infections.
-
Otitis media (middle ear infection).
-
Sinusitis and other upper respiratory infections.
It is effective against infections caused by beta-lactamase-producing bacteria.
Pharmacology:
FUCLAV contains Amoxicillin, a penicillin-type antibiotic, and Clavulanic Acid, a beta-lactamase inhibitor.

Amoxicillin inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis, causing bacterial death.

Clavulanic Acid protects amoxicillin from degradation by beta-lactamase enzymes produced by resistant bacteria, allowing it to work more effectively against resistant strains.
Dosage:

Adults and Children over 12 years: 10 mL every 8 hours or as prescribed by a physician.

Children under 12 years: The dosage is determined by body weight and severity of the infection. Typically, 5-7.5 mL every 8 hours, or as directed by the healthcare provider.

Continue the treatment for the full duration as prescribed, even if symptoms improve before the course is completed.
Administration:

Shake the bottle well before use.

Administer the liquid form orally using a measuring spoon or syringe.

Can be taken with or without food.
-
Take the medication at evenly spaced intervals for the best results.
Interaction:
FUCLAV 70 ML may interact with other medications, including:

Oral contraceptives (may reduce their effectiveness).

Anticoagulants (e.g., warfarin – may increase bleeding risk).

Methotrexate (may increase its toxicity).
-
Probenecid (may increase amoxicillin blood levels).
Always inform your healthcare provider of all other medications you are taking.
Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity to amoxicillin, clavulanic acid, or other penicillin/cephalosporin antibiotics.

History of severe liver dysfunction related to amoxicillin or clavulanic acid.

Use with caution in patients with kidney impairment or history of allergic reactions to antibiotics.
Side Effects:

Common side effects: Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain, rash, headache.

Serious side effects: Liver toxicity, severe allergic reactions (anaphylaxis), Clostridium difficile-associated diarrhea, and in rare cases, blood disorders.

Consult a doctor if any severe allergic reactions or other unexpected symptoms occur.
Pregnancy & Lactation:
FUCLAV is considered safe to use during pregnancy (Category B) when prescribed by a healthcare provider.
It is also considered safe for use during breastfeeding, though it is advisable to monitor for any adverse effects in the infant.

Store at room temperature, away from light and moisture, below 25°C.
