Indications:
Clopid 75 mg is indicated for prevention of atherothrombotic events such as myocardial infarction, ischemic stroke, and peripheral arterial disease. It is used to prevent blood clot formation after stent placement and in acute coronary syndrome.
Pharmacology:
Clopidogrel inhibits platelet aggregation by irreversibly blocking the P2Y12 ADP receptor on platelets, thereby preventing clot formation.
Dosage:
The usual dose is 75 mg once daily orally, with or without food. Dose adjustments depend on patient condition and doctor’s prescription.
Administration:
Take orally with a glass of water, at the same time each day. Do not stop therapy without consulting your physician.
Interaction:
May interact with anticoagulants, NSAIDs, proton pump inhibitors, and other drugs affecting bleeding risk. Inform your healthcare provider about all medications.
Contraindications:
Active bleeding, hypersensitivity to clopidogrel, and severe liver impairment.
Side Effects:
Common side effects include bleeding, bruising, gastrointestinal upset, rash, and rarely thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura (TTP).
Pregnancy & Lactation:
Use only if clearly needed and prescribed by a healthcare professional. Consult doctor before use in pregnancy or breastfeeding.
Precautions & Warnings:
Monitor for signs of bleeding or bruising. Use cautiously in patients with bleeding disorders or those undergoing surgery.
