Indications:
Clobederm 10gm is indicated for the treatment of various inflammatory skin conditions including eczema, psoriasis, lichen planus, and other steroid-responsive dermatoses.
Pharmacology:
Clobetasol propionate, the active ingredient in Clobederm, is a potent corticosteroid that reduces inflammation by inhibiting the release of inflammatory mediators. It suppresses the immune response and reduces redness, itching, and swelling.
Dosage:
Apply a thin layer of Clobederm to the affected area once or twice daily, or as directed by a physician. Do not use more than 50g per week.
Administration:
For topical use only. Gently rub a small amount into the skin until it disappears. Do not apply to broken or infected skin unless advised.
Interaction:
No significant drug interactions reported when used topically. However, avoid using with other corticosteroid products unless instructed.
Contraindications:
Contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to clobetasol or other corticosteroids. Also not recommended for viral skin infections (e.g., herpes simplex), fungal or bacterial infections unless combined therapy is prescribed.
Side Effects:
May include burning, itching, irritation, dryness, or thinning of the skin. Prolonged use may lead to systemic absorption and cause adrenal suppression.
Pregnancy & Lactation:
Should be used with caution during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Only use if clearly needed and prescribed by a physician.
Precautions & Warnings:
Avoid prolonged use especially on the face or under occlusion. Not suitable for use in children under 12 years without medical supervision. Discontinue if irritation or hypersensitivity occurs.
Therapeutic Class:
Topical corticosteroids
Storage Conditions:
Store below 25°C, protect from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
