Indications:
MECOLIN 0.5 MG is indicated for the treatment of vitamin B12 deficiency, peripheral neuropathy, diabetic neuropathy, and other neurological disorders caused by vitamin B12 deficiency.
Pharmacology:
Mecobalamin is the biologically active form of vitamin B12. It plays a vital role in nerve cell regeneration, DNA synthesis, and red blood cell formation. It helps in repairing damaged nerves and improves neurological function.
Dosage:
Adults: 500 mcg (0.5 mg) orally, 1 to 3 times daily or as prescribed by the physician.
Administration:
Take orally with or without food, preferably at the same time each day to maintain consistent blood levels.
Interaction:
Mecobalamin may interact with medications like chloramphenicol and certain chemotherapeutic agents that affect blood cell production. Inform your doctor about all medications.
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to mecobalamin or any excipients in the formulation.
