Indications:
LAXADIL EP 120 GM is indicated for:

Constipation: It is used to relieve constipation by softening stools and promoting bowel movements.
Bowel cleansing: It is also used before diagnostic procedures (such as colonoscopies) to clear the intestines.
Chronic constipation: For long-term use under the supervision of a healthcare provider.

Pharmacology:
LAXADIL EP 120 GM contains Polyethylene Glycol 3350 along with electrolytes. Polyethylene glycol works by drawing water into the intestines, which helps soften stool and facilitates easier bowel movements. The electrolytes in the solution help maintain the balance of salts and fluids in the body while the osmotic process occurs, reducing the risk of dehydration or electrolyte imbalance.

Dosage:

Adults: The typical dose is 17 grams (1 heaping tablespoon) of LAXADIL EP 120 GM dissolved in about 120-240 ml of water once daily.
Children (6 to 16 years): The dose is usually 1/2 to 1 full tablespoon (8.5 grams to 17 grams) per day, depending on the severity of constipation and under the direction of a healthcare provider.
The dosage can be adjusted based on the patient’s condition, so it is important to follow the physician's recommendations.

Administration:

Mix the recommended amount of powder with the prescribed amount of water.
Stir well until the powder is fully dissolved before drinking.
It can be taken once daily, preferably at a consistent time each day.

Interaction:

Other laxatives: Combining multiple laxatives can increase the risk of dehydration and electrolyte imbalance.
Diuretics: These medications may increase the risk of dehydration when taken with osmotic laxatives like polyethylene glycol.

Contraindications:
