NOPAIN 50 MG is primarily indicated for the treatment of:
Pain relief: Effective for acute pain such as dental pain, post-surgical pain, and musculoskeletal pain (e.g., sprains, strains, back pain).
Osteoarthritis and Rheumatoid Arthritis: To reduce pain and inflammation associated with these conditions.
Dysmenorrhea (Menstrual pain): To relieve pain associated with menstruation.
Fever management: To reduce fever caused by infections or inflammatory conditions.
NOPAIN contains Nimesulide, a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that works by inhibiting the enzyme cyclooxygenase (COX), specifically COX-2. This enzyme is involved in the production of prostaglandins, chemicals that promote inflammation, pain, and fever. By reducing prostaglandin production, Nimesulide effectively reduces inflammation, pain, and fever.
Nimesulide is often considered a selective COX-2 inhibitor, which may lead to a lower risk of gastrointestinal side effects compared to non-selective NSAIDs, as it has less effect on COX-1, which plays a role in protecting the stomach lining.
For Pain Relief (e.g., musculoskeletal pain, dental pain): The usual recommended dose is 50 mg twice daily, after meals.
For Osteoarthritis and Rheumatoid Arthritis: The typical dose is 50 mg twice daily, but it may vary based on the severity of the condition.
For Dysmenorrhea: The usual dose is 50 mg twice daily as needed for pain.
For Fever: The usual dose is 50 mg twice daily. Do not exceed the maximum dose of 200 mg per day.
Note: Always follow the dose prescribed by your healthcare provider and never exceed the recommended daily dose.
NOPAIN 50 MG should be taken with food to reduce the risk of stomach upset.
Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.
Do not crush, chew, or break the tablet.
Take the medication at the same time each day to maintain consistent effects.
NOPAIN 50 MG may interact with:
Other NSAIDs (e.g., ibuprofen, aspirin): Concurrent use may increase the risk of gastrointestinal side effects like ulcers or bleeding.
Antihypertensive drugs (e.g., ACE inhibitors, diuretics): Nimesulide may reduce the effectiveness of these medications in controlling blood pressure.
Blood thinners (e.g., warfarin): Increases the risk of bleeding when used together.
Corticosteroids: May increase the risk of gastrointestinal problems.
Lithium: Nimesulide may increase lithium levels in the blood, leading to toxicity.
Alcohol: Excessive alcohol intake can increase the risk of gastrointestinal bleeding or ulcers when combined with NSAIDs.
Always inform your healthcare provider about any other medications, including over-the-counter drugs, supplements, or herbal products you are using.
Hypersensitivity to Nimesulide or any of its components.
Severe gastrointestinal disorders (e.g., peptic ulcers, gastrointestinal bleeding).
Severe liver or kidney dysfunction.
Active bleeding disorders.
History of gastrointestinal bleeding or perforation related to NSAID use.
Pregnancy (especially during the third trimester).
Children under 12 years of age.
Common side effects: Nausea, abdominal pain, indigestion, dizziness, and headache.
Serious side effects: Gastrointestinal bleeding, peptic ulcers, liver toxicity (e.g., jaundice, elevated liver enzymes), allergic reactions (e.g., rash, swelling), and kidney problems.
Other side effects: Rashes, fluid retention, and high blood pressure.
Pregnancy: Nimesulide should be avoided during pregnancy, especially in the third trimester, as it can cause harm to the fetus (e.g., premature closure of the ductus arteriosus). It should only be used during pregnancy if absolutely necessary.
Lactation: Nimesulide is excreted in breast milk, and its safety during breastfeeding has not been established. It should be used with caution during lactation, and only if the potential benefit justifies the risk to the infant.
