Indications:
Indicated for treatment of corticosteroid-responsive dermatoses complicated by bacterial infections such as eczema, dermatitis, and psoriasis with secondary infection.
Pharmacology:
Betamethasone is a potent corticosteroid that reduces inflammation, redness, and itching. Neomycin is an antibiotic that acts against gram-negative bacteria.
Dosage:
Apply a thin layer to the affected area 1-2 times daily or as directed by the physician.
Administration:
Topical application on clean, dry skin. Avoid contact with eyes and mucous membranes.
Interaction:
Avoid concurrent use with other topical steroids or antibiotics unless prescribed.
Contraindications:
Not for use in viral, fungal, or tuberculosis skin infections. Contraindicated in patients allergic to neomycin or corticosteroids.
Side Effects:
Possible skin irritation, dryness, burning, itching, or allergic reactions.
Pregnancy & Lactation:
Use only if clearly needed and prescribed by a doctor. Topical use has minimal systemic absorption.
Precautions & Warnings:
Avoid prolonged use; may cause skin thinning or systemic effects. Discontinue if irritation occurs.
