Indications:
Dimerol MR 60mg is indicated for improving glycemic control in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus, especially when diet and exercise alone are insufficient.
Pharmacology:
Metformin lowers blood glucose by decreasing hepatic glucose production, reducing intestinal glucose absorption, and improving insulin sensitivity in peripheral tissues.
Dosage:

Usually taken once daily with the evening meal.

Dose may be adjusted based on blood glucose monitoring and physician’s advice.
Administration:
Oral use with food to minimize gastrointestinal side effects. Do not crush or chew the MR tablet.
Interaction:
May interact with iodinated contrast agents, alcohol, and other drugs affecting renal function. Regular monitoring is advised.
