Indications:
MYCOFREE 15 GM is indicated for the treatment of superficial fungal infections of the skin, including:
Tinea corporis (ringworm)
Tinea cruris (jock itch)
Tinea pedis (athlete's foot)
Cutaneous candidiasis
Pityriasis versicolor
Pharmacology:
Terbinafine is an antifungal agent that inhibits squalene epoxidase, an enzyme involved in the biosynthesis of ergosterol, a vital component of fungal cell membranes. This inhibition leads to fungal cell death.
Dosage:
Apply a thin layer of cream to the affected area once or twice daily.
Continue treatment for 1–2 weeks for tinea corporis and tinea cruris.
For tinea pedis, treatment may extend up to 4 weeks.
For cutaneous candidiasis and pityriasis versicolor, treatment duration is typically 2 weeks.
Administration:
Clean and dry the affected area before application.
Apply the cream gently and wash hands after use.
Avoid contact with eyes and mucous membranes.
Interaction:
No significant drug interactions have been reported when used topically.
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to terbinafine or any component of the formulation.
Not for ophthalmic or intranasal use.
Side Effects:
Common: Burning, stinging, or itching at the application site.
Rare: Redness, dryness, or rash.
Pregnancy & Lactation:
Use during pregnancy and lactation should be under medical supervision. Topical application is generally considered safe, but consult your doctor before use.
