Indications:
MIGON 10 MG is indicated for the acute treatment of migraine attacks with or without aura in adults.
Pharmacology:
Sumatriptan is a selective 5-HT1 receptor agonist that causes vasoconstriction of dilated cranial blood vessels and inhibits pro-inflammatory neuropeptide release, reducing migraine pain.
Dosage:
Typically, one 10 mg tablet orally at the onset of migraine symptoms.
A second dose may be taken after 2 hours if needed, but not exceeding 30 mg in 24 hours.
Administration:
Take orally with water, with or without food. Do not exceed recommended dose.
Interaction:
May interact with other triptans, SSRIs, MAO inhibitors, and ergot derivatives increasing risk of serotonin syndrome.
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to sumatriptan.
History of ischemic heart disease, uncontrolled hypertension, stroke, or peripheral vascular disease.
Use within 24 hours of ergotamine derivatives or other triptans.
Side Effects:
Dizziness, flushing, tingling, tightness in chest or throat, nausea, and fatigue.
Pregnancy & Lactation:
Use only if clearly needed. Consult physician before use during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
Therapeutic Class:
