Indications:
Clopid AS 75 mg is indicated for prevention of thrombotic cardiovascular events such as myocardial infarction, ischemic stroke, and prevention of clot formation after stenting or in acute coronary syndrome.
Pharmacology:
Clopidogrel inhibits platelet aggregation by blocking P2Y12 ADP receptors irreversibly, while aspirin inhibits cyclooxygenase-1 (COX-1) enzyme reducing thromboxane A2, synergistically preventing clot formation.
Dosage:
Usually, one tablet once daily orally, or as prescribed by the physician.
Administration:
Take orally with water, preferably at the same time each day. Do not discontinue without medical advice.
Interaction:
May interact with anticoagulants, NSAIDs, SSRIs, and other drugs increasing bleeding risk. Disclose all medications to your doctor.
Contraindications:
Active bleeding, allergy to clopidogrel or aspirin, peptic ulcer disease, severe liver impairment.
Side Effects:
Bleeding, bruising, gastrointestinal discomfort, rash, and rare serious bleeding complications.
Pregnancy & Lactation:
Use only if clearly needed and prescribed. Consult doctor before use during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
Precautions & Warnings:
Monitor for bleeding signs. Use cautiously in patients with bleeding disorders or upcoming surgery.
