রেজিস্টার্ড চিকিৎসকের পরামর্শ মোতাবেক ঔষধ সেবন করুন।

Indications:

NAPSEC 500 MG is indicated for the treatment of:

  • Osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis: To reduce inflammation and pain associated with these chronic joint conditions.

  • Musculoskeletal pain: For conditions such as back pain, muscle sprains, and strains.

  • Dysmenorrhea (menstrual pain): To alleviate pain and discomfort during menstruation.

  • Acute gout: To reduce pain and inflammation during a gout flare-up.

  • Fever: To reduce high body temperature associated with various infections or illnesses.

Pharmacology:

NAPSEC 500 MG contains naproxen, a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID). Naproxen works by inhibiting the cyclooxygenase enzymes (COX-1 and COX-2), which produce prostaglandins, chemicals in the body that promote inflammation, pain, and fever. By blocking these enzymes, naproxen helps to reduce swelling, pain, and fever.

Dosage:

  • For pain or fever: The typical dose for adults is 500 mg initially, followed by 250 mg every 6-8 hours as needed.

  • For arthritis: 500 mg twice daily, depending on the severity of the condition.

  • For musculoskeletal pain: 500 mg twice daily, or as prescribed by a healthcare provider.

  • Maximum dose: 1000 mg per day in divided doses, unless directed otherwise by a physician.

Administration:

  • NAPSEC 500 MG should be taken orally with food to minimize gastrointestinal discomfort.

  • Swallow the tablet whole with a full glass of water.

  • Do not chew or crush the tablet.

Interaction:

NAPSEC 500 MG may interact with:

  • Blood pressure medications (e.g., ACE inhibitors, diuretics): Naproxen can reduce the effectiveness of certain blood pressure medications.

  • Blood thinners (e.g., warfarin): Combining naproxen with anticoagulants may increase the risk of bleeding.

  • Other NSAIDs or corticosteroids: The risk of gastrointestinal ulcers or bleeding increases when using naproxen with other anti-inflammatory drugs.

  • Lithium: Naproxen can raise lithium levels in the blood, increasing the risk of toxicity.

Always inform your healthcare provider about all the medications you are taking, including over-the-counter drugs and supplements.

Contraindications:

  • Hypersensitivity to naproxen or other NSAIDs.

  • Active gastrointestinal ulcers or bleeding.

  • Severe liver or kidney disease.

  • History of heart attack, stroke, or other cardiovascular diseases.

  • Pregnancy (especially in the third trimester).

Side Effects:

  • Common side effects: Stomach pain, nausea, dizziness, headache, indigestion, and constipation.

  • Serious side effects: Gastrointestinal bleeding, ulcers, heart attack, stroke, kidney damage, and allergic reactions (e.g., skin rash, shortness of breath).

  • Other effects: High blood pressure, fluid retention, and liver enzyme abnormalities.

Pregnancy & Lactation:

  • Pregnancy: Naproxen should be avoided during the third trimester of pregnancy due to the risk of causing premature closure of the ductus arteriosus (a blood vessel in the fetus).

  • Lactation: Naproxen is excreted in breast milk in small amounts. It should be used with caution during breastfeeding and only under the supervision of a healthcare provider.
