LICERIN is indicated for the treatment of:
Head lice (pediculosis capitis)
Scabies (itch mite infestation)
LICERIN is used to eradicate lice and scabies mites, providing effective relief from itching and discomfort associated with these conditions.
LICERIN contains Permethrin, a synthetic pyrethroid that acts as a neurotoxin to lice and mites. Permethrin works by disrupting the normal function of the nervous system of the parasites. It inhibits the transmission of nerve impulses, causing paralysis and death of the lice or mites. This results in the effective eradication of the infestation.
For lice treatment (head lice):
Apply the cream to dry hair and scalp, ensuring thorough coverage. Leave it on for 10 minutes and then wash it out with shampoo. Repeat the treatment after 7–10 days if necessary.
For scabies treatment:
Apply the cream to the entire body, from the neck down, including the soles of the feet and palms. Leave on overnight (8–14 hours) before washing it off. A second treatment may be needed after 7 days.
Clean and dry the affected area before applying the cream.
Gently massage the cream into the scalp or skin, depending on the condition being treated.
For lice treatment, use a fine-toothed comb to remove dead lice and eggs after treatment.
Wash hands thoroughly after application.
Permethrin generally does not have significant drug interactions. However, it is advisable to consult your physician before using other topical treatments or medications in combination with LICERIN.
Hypersensitivity to Permethrin or any other components in the formulation.
Do not use on infants under the age of 2 months without consulting a doctor.
Avoid contact with eyes; if the cream gets into the eyes, rinse immediately with water.
Local irritation, redness, or itching at the application site.
Burning or stinging sensation (usually mild and temporary).
In rare cases, allergic reactions such as rash, swelling, or difficulty breathing.
Pregnancy: Permethrin should only be used during pregnancy if the potential benefit justifies the potential risk to the fetus. Always consult your healthcare provider before use.
Lactation: Permethrin is not known to be harmful during breastfeeding, but consult your physician before using it while nursing.
