Indications:
Cosec 20 mg is prescribed for pain and inflammation associated with osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, and other musculoskeletal disorders.
Pharmacology:
Aceclofenac works by inhibiting cyclooxygenase (COX-1 and COX-2) enzymes, thereby reducing the synthesis of prostaglandins which mediate inflammation and pain.
Dosage:
The usual dosage is 1 tablet twice daily after meals or as advised by the physician.
Administration:
Orally with food to reduce gastrointestinal discomfort.
Interaction:
May interact with other NSAIDs, anticoagulants, corticosteroids, antihypertensives. Inform your healthcare provider of all medications.
Contraindications:
Patients with hypersensitivity to aceclofenac or other NSAIDs, active peptic ulcer, severe cardiac, hepatic or renal impairment.
Side Effects:
Common side effects include gastrointestinal upset, nausea, dizziness, rash, and in rare cases, ulcers or bleeding.
Pregnancy & Lactation:
Use only if clearly needed and prescribed by a physician; avoid during third trimester. Consult doctor before use during breastfeeding.
Precautions & Warnings:
Monitor for gastrointestinal symptoms and renal function. Avoid prolonged use without medical supervision.
