Description

• রেজিস্টার্ড চিকিৎসকের পরামর্শ মোতাবেক ঔষধ সেবন করুন

Indications:
Bacmax 5 MG is indicated for the treatment of muscle spasticity and related symptoms in conditions such as multiple sclerosis, spinal cord injuries, cerebral palsy, and other neurological disorders.

Pharmacology:
Baclofen acts as a GABA-B receptor agonist, inhibiting monosynaptic and polysynaptic reflexes at the spinal level, leading to reduced muscle tone and spasticity.

Dosage:

  • Adults & children over 10 years: 5 mg three times daily, preferably with or after food. The dose may be gradually increased up to a maximum of 100 mg daily.

  • Children under 10 years: Treatment usually starts with 2.5 mg (2.5 ml) four times daily, then adjusted based on individual needs. Maintenance doses vary by age group.

Administration:
Oral administration with or after food to minimize gastrointestinal discomfort.

Interaction:

  • Increased sedation may occur if Bacmax is taken with agents acting on the central nervous system, alcohol, or synthetic opiates.

  • Combined treatment with Bacmax and antihypertensives may increase the fall in blood pressure; therefore, the dosage of antihypertensive medication should be adjusted accordingly.

  • The concomitant administration of Bacmax and tricyclic antidepressants may potentiate the pharmacological effects of Bacmax resulting in pronounced muscular hypotonia.

Contraindications:
Bacmax is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to Baclofen or any component of this product.

Side Effects:
Common side effects include drowsiness, dizziness, weakness, fatigue, nausea, and headache. Rarely, allergic reactions may occur.

Pregnancy & Lactation:

  • Pregnancy: Category B3. Baclofen should be used during pregnancy only if the potential benefit justifies the potential risk to the fetus.

  • Lactation: Baclofen is excreted in breast milk, but available evidence suggests that the quantities are so minimal that no adverse effects on the infant are expected.

Precautions & Warnings:

  • Use cautiously in patients with renal or hepatic impairment.

  • Discontinue if signs of hypersensitivity or severe side effects occur.

  • Avoid abrupt withdrawal; taper dose gradually under medical supervision.

Therapeutic Class:
Centrally acting skeletal muscle relaxants.

Storage Conditions:
Store in a cool, dry place below 30°C, away from direct sunlight and out of reach of children.
