Indications:
Type 1 diabetes mellitus

Pharmacology:
ABASAGLAR contains insulin glargine, a long-acting human insulin analog. It provides a steady basal insulin level by slowly releasing insulin over 24 hours, helping to regulate glucose metabolism and maintain stable blood sugar levels.
Dosage:
Dosage individualized based on patient's blood glucose monitoring
Usually administered once daily, subcutaneously
Dose adjustments may be needed based on diet, exercise, and blood sugar levels
Administration:
Administer subcutaneously in the abdomen, thigh, or upper arm
Use with compatible insulin delivery devices (pens/cartridges)
Rotate injection sites to reduce lipodystrophy risk
Interaction:
May interact with other antidiabetic agents, beta-blockers, corticosteroids
Alcohol can affect blood glucose control
Medications affecting glucose metabolism require dose adjustments
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to insulin glargine or any components
