Indications:
NEPITAN 24/26 MG is indicated for contraception to prevent unwanted pregnancy and for regulation of menstrual cycles in women.
Pharmacology:
NEPITAN contains Levonorgestrel (24 mcg) and Ethinyl estradiol (26 mcg), which act by inhibiting ovulation, thickening cervical mucus to prevent sperm penetration, and altering the endometrial lining to prevent implantation.
Dosage & Administration:
Take one tablet daily at the same time each day, preferably starting on the first day of menstruation. Continue for 21 days followed by a 7-day pill-free interval or as directed by a physician.
Interaction:
May interact with enzyme-inducing drugs such as rifampicin, anticonvulsants (phenytoin, carbamazepine), certain antibiotics, and St. John’s Wort, which may reduce contraceptive efficacy.

Side Effects:
Common side effects include nausea, breast tenderness, headache, spotting between periods, and mood changes. Serious effects may include blood clots, hypertension, and liver problems.
Pregnancy & Lactation:
Not to be used during pregnancy. Use with caution during breastfeeding; may reduce milk production.
Precautions & Warnings:
Regular medical check-ups recommended. Avoid smoking while using this medication, especially in women over 35 years. Inform your doctor about any history of hypertension, diabetes, or clotting disorders.
