Indications:
CLONATRIL 2MG Tablet is indicated for:

Anxiety disorders and panic attacks.

Seizure disorders, including epilepsy and Lennox-Gastaut syndrome.

Acute management of agitation or manic episodes.
Pharmacology:
Clonazepam is a benzodiazepine that potentiates the activity of gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA), an inhibitory neurotransmitter. This helps reduce neural excitability, effectively managing seizures, anxiety, and panic attacks.
Dosage and Administration:

Adults: Typically 1–2 mg/day, adjusted based on response, with a maximum of 20 mg/day.

Children: Weight-dependent, typically 0.01–0.03 mg/kg/day.

Take orally with water.

Can be taken with or without meals.

Interaction:

Avoid concurrent use with alcohol or CNS depressants.

May interact with anticonvulsants such as phenytoin and carbamazepine.

Enhances sedative effects of opioids and other depressants.
Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity to Clonazepam or benzodiazepines.

Severe hepatic impairment or respiratory insufficiency.

Patients with a history of benzodiazepine dependency or substance abuse.
Side Effects:

Common: Drowsiness, fatigue, dizziness, impaired coordination.

Rare: Respiratory depression, dependency, withdrawal symptoms on abrupt cessation.
Pregnancy & Lactation:

Pregnancy: Use only if necessary due to potential risks to the fetus.

Lactation: Use with caution as Clonazepam is excreted in breast milk.
