Rasagil 1mg Tablet is indicated for the treatment of Parkinson's disease. It is used either alone or in combination with other therapies to manage symptoms such as tremors, muscle rigidity, and impaired movement.
Rasagiline, the active compound, is a selective monoamine oxidase-B (MAO-B) inhibitor. It enhances dopamine activity in the central nervous system, improving motor function and reducing symptoms associated with Parkinson's disease.
Adults: Recommended dose is 1 mg once daily.
Administered orally, with or without meals.
Avoid concurrent use with other MAO inhibitors, tricyclic antidepressants, SSRIs, or SNRIs.
Interaction with tyramine-rich foods can lead to hypertensive episodes.
Known hypersensitivity to Rasagiline or its ingredients.
Concurrent use with certain antidepressants, opioids, or other MAO inhibitors.
Common: Headache, fatigue, dizziness, nausea.
Serious: Severe hypertension, serotonin syndrome when combined with certain drugs.
Use during pregnancy or lactation only if clearly needed and as directed by a physician.
Use cautiously in patients with moderate to severe hepatic impairment.
Regular monitoring of blood pressure is essential.
