ELMISAN 100 MG Capsule is indicated for:
Treatment of fungal infections affecting the skin, nails, and mucous membranes
Systemic fungal infections such as candidiasis and aspergillosis
Prophylaxis in immunocompromised patients at risk of fungal infections
ELMISAN contains Itraconazole 100 mg, a triazole antifungal agent. It works by inhibiting the synthesis of ergosterol, a key component of fungal cell membranes, leading to fungal cell death.
Skin and nail infections: 100 mg once daily or 200 mg once daily for 7-14 days, depending on the infection.
Systemic infections: 100-200 mg daily, as prescribed by a physician.
Take with food to enhance absorption.
May interact with antacids, proton pump inhibitors, and H2 blockers, reducing absorption.
Contraindicated with drugs like terfenadine, cisapride, and simvastatin due to risk of severe interactions.
Inform your physician about all ongoing medications.
Known hypersensitivity to Itraconazole or other azole antifungals.
Severe hepatic impairment or active liver disease.
Avoid use in patients with ventricular dysfunction or heart failure.
Common side effects:
Nausea, abdominal pain, and diarrhea
Headache or dizziness
Rare but serious effects:
Hepatotoxicity
Severe allergic reactions
Not recommended during pregnancy unless no safer alternative is available.
Avoid use during breastfeeding unless prescribed by a physician.
Monitor liver function regularly during prolonged use.

Avoid driving or operating machinery if dizziness occurs.
