ZOCARE 10 ML EYE DROP is indicated for the treatment of bacterial eye infections, including:
Bacterial conjunctivitis.
Keratitis caused by susceptible organisms.
Other superficial ocular infections.
Pharmacology:
Moxifloxacin is a fourth-generation fluoroquinolone antibiotic. It inhibits bacterial DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV, enzymes essential for bacterial DNA replication, transcription, repair, and recombination, leading to bacterial cell death.
Dosage & Administration:
Instill 1 drop in the affected eye(s) 2-3 times daily, or as directed by a physician.
Treatment duration typically ranges from 5 to 7 days.
Avoid contaminating the dropper tip by touching it to any surface.
Interaction:
No significant systemic interactions due to topical administration.
Avoid concurrent use with other ophthalmic medications unless advised by a doctor.
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to Moxifloxacin or other quinolone antibiotics.
Viral or fungal eye infections, as this is an antibacterial medication.
Side Effects:
Common: Mild irritation, burning, or stinging upon application.
Rare: Hypersensitivity reactions, including redness, swelling, or rash.
Pregnancy & Lactation:
Use during pregnancy only if the potential benefit justifies the risk to the fetus.
Caution should be exercised while using during breastfeeding.
Precautions & Warnings:
