ZOLI 0.025% NASAL DROPS is indicated for:
Temporary relief of nasal congestion due to the common cold, hay fever, allergies, or sinusitis.
Relief of nasal discomfort caused by upper respiratory tract infections.
Pharmacology:
Oxymetazoline is a direct-acting sympathomimetic amine that stimulates alpha-adrenergic receptors. This action causes vasoconstriction in the nasal mucosa, reducing swelling and congestion and allowing easier breathing.
Dosage & Administration:
Adults and Children (over 6 years): Instill 1-2 drops into each nostril every 12 hours as needed.
Children (2-6 years): Use under medical supervision.
Do not use for more than 3 consecutive days to avoid rebound congestion.
Interaction:
Concurrent use with MAO inhibitors or tricyclic antidepressants may enhance hypertensive effects.
Avoid combining with other decongestants.
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to Oxymetazoline or any of the formulation components.
Patients with narrow-angle glaucoma, severe hypertension, or significant cardiovascular disorders.
Side Effects:
Common: Mild nasal irritation, dryness, or stinging.
Rare: Rebound nasal congestion with prolonged use, headache, or palpitations.
Pregnancy & Lactation:
Use cautiously during pregnancy, only if the benefits outweigh the risks.
Consult a physician before use during breastfeeding.
Precautions & Warnings:
Avoid prolonged or excessive use to prevent rebound nasal congestion.
Use with caution in patients with hypertension, diabetes, hyperthyroidism, or enlarged prostate.
Keep out of reach of children to prevent accidental ingestion.
