RANSYS AM 20/5 MG Tablet is indicated for:
-
Management of hypertension (high blood pressure) in patients requiring dual therapy

Reduction of cardiovascular risks, such as heart attacks and strokes

Management of stable angina
Pharmacology
-
Ramipril (20 mg): An ACE inhibitor that lowers blood pressure by relaxing blood vessels, reducing strain on the heart.

Amlodipine (5 mg): A calcium channel blocker that prevents calcium influx into smooth muscle cells, promoting vasodilation and improving blood flow.
The combination works synergistically to manage blood pressure and protect against cardiovascular complications.
Dosage & Administration

One tablet daily, preferably at the same time each day, with or without food.

Dosage should be individualized based on patient response and clinical conditions.
Interaction
-
With potassium supplements/diuretics: Increased risk of hyperkalemia.
-
With NSAIDs: May reduce antihypertensive effects and increase renal impairment risk.

With beta-blockers or other antihypertensives: May enhance blood pressure-lowering effects.
-
Alcohol: May potentiate the blood pressure-lowering effects and cause dizziness.
Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to Ramipril, Amlodipine, or any excipients.

History of angioedema related to ACE inhibitors.

Severe renal or hepatic impairment.

Aortic stenosis or obstructive cardiomyopathy.
Side Effects
Common side effects:

Dizziness, headache, or lightheadedness

Peripheral edema (swelling in the legs or ankles)

Pregnancy & Lactation

Contraindicated during pregnancy due to fetal toxicity risk.

Not recommended during breastfeeding unless clearly necessary and under strict medical supervision.
Precautions & Warnings

Monitor blood pressure, kidney function, and electrolytes regularly.

Caution in patients with renal or hepatic impairment.

Avoid abrupt discontinuation as it may lead to rebound hypertension.

Notify a physician immediately if symptoms of angioedema occur.
