ZEROPAIN 10 MG TABLET is indicated for the short-term management of moderate to severe acute pain, such as post-operative pain, musculoskeletal pain, and dental pain.
Pharmacology:
Ketorolac is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that works by inhibiting cyclooxygenase (COX-1 and COX-2) enzymes, leading to decreased production of prostaglandins. This reduces pain, inflammation, and fever.
Dosage & Administration:
Adults:
Oral: 10 mg every 4-6 hours as needed, not exceeding 40 mg/day.
Duration: Use for a maximum of 5 days for pain management.
Take with food or milk to minimize gastrointestinal discomfort.
Interaction:
Increased risk of bleeding with anticoagulants or antiplatelet agents.
Use cautiously with other NSAIDs or corticosteroids to prevent gastrointestinal side effects.
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to Ketorolac or other NSAIDs.
Active peptic ulcer disease or recent gastrointestinal bleeding.
Severe renal impairment or risk of renal failure.
Pregnancy, especially in the third trimester, and lactation.
Side Effects:
Common: Nausea, dyspepsia, headache, and dizziness.
Serious: Gastrointestinal bleeding, renal impairment, or hypersensitivity reactions.
Pregnancy & Lactation:
Contraindicated during the third trimester of pregnancy due to potential effects on fetal circulation.
Not recommended during breastfeeding as Ketorolac may pass into breast milk.
Precautions & Warnings:
Avoid prolonged use to prevent serious adverse effects such as gastrointestinal bleeding or kidney damage.
Use with caution in elderly patients or those with cardiovascular risk factors.
Monitor renal and hepatic functions during treatment.
